A Note from Dr. Erin Prince

Last week, I had the chance to attend an event celebrating our Mentor Program. What a fun evening! It was wonderful to bring everyone together for a mentor-mentee family meet and greet. We shared dinner, played some games, and most importantly, celebrated the relationships that have formed through this growing program.

Our Mentor Program serves almost 300 students each year and reaches 18 of our 19 schools. These mentors are helping students build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop positive attitudes toward school, and we are very grateful for their dedication and time.

Are you interested in our Mentor Program, either for yourself or someone you know? We'd love to hear from you! Learn more on our website.

Learning Buddies Needed

We are seeking Learning Buddies to join our early childhood learning community! Designed for children ages 3–5 who are meeting developmental milestones, Learning Buddies will make friends, play, and discover new things with classmates who might learn a little differently. Families living within CKSD boundaries are encouraged to complete our interest form.

Building Our Summer Team

We love welcoming back former students as general laborers on our summer crew! If you know a recent grad looking for a fun, well-paying, and rewarding summer job, please let them know we’re hiring. It’s a fantastic way to gain experience, stay connected with the community, and enjoy some sunny days outdoors. Encourage them to apply now from our website and be a part of our amazing team!

Listening Session This Weekend

The next community listening session with our school board is scheduled for this Saturday, March 21, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Silverdale Center (3650 NW Anderson Hill Rd., Silverdale) in the Rainier Conference Room (2nd floor). We hope you’ll take a few minutes to stop by. Our school board directors look forward to seeing you!

New Student Registration is Open

Do you have a child ready for kindergarten, or know a family moving into the area? Enrollment is now open for all grades for the 2026-27 school year. If your child will be 5 by August 31, they can register for free, full-day kindergarten at their neighborhood school. Visit our website to learn more and register. We’re excited to welcome all our new and returning students!
